Dooleys Bistro · Capella & Springsure
All the pub classics, made with premium ingredients. Succulent, locally sourced steaks, a good Parmi, and specials from a Thai chicken salad to a fish curry or a giant grill plate. Pies, gravies and much of the menu are made in house, with fresh produce delivered two to three times a week. And yes, of course we serve Guinness.
Our team of five professional chefs brings more than fifty years of combined experience, including kitchens for major mining companies, and cooks fresh in both hotels every day.

From one contractor to a full crew on a long roster, Dooleys looks after workers across the Bowen Basin, with packed crib meals, dinner in the bistro and quiet rooms for shift workers.
Crib meals
Takeout crib breakfasts, a seven-day rotating crib lunch menu and a breakfast buffet for groups of 30 or more, all cooked and cooled to national food safety standards in our commercial kitchens.

Finding a great motel in Central Queensland can be a challenge, but Dooleys in Springsure and Capella are real standouts. The rooms are fresh and modern, spotless with crisp linen, walk-in showers, excellent air-con and welcoming staff.
Even better, you’re only a short stroll from their own pub and bistro. It truly feels like a little oasis out west—only instead of water, you’ll find icy drinks and hearty steaks waiting for you. Absolutely worth a stay!
What a great place to stay - rooms are modern, spacious, well equipped and most importantly very clean. Doesn’t look much from the outside, but inside rooms have good noise and temperature insulation and are very comfortable. Steak for dinner at attached tavern was also good value and fast service. Worth the short trip out of emerald compared to some of their local motels.
The best rooms I’ve ever stayed at in a country town. Exceptionally clean. The food was excellent - large portions, fresh produce. Friendly staff. Old fashioned hospitality. Check it out!
Ordered dinner for the two of us, 8 minutes later, food is on the table. What great service. And the meal was fantastic.
Just spent the best weekend at Dooleys. It couldn’t be in a better position, at the right end of the main street. The room was super clean and comfy and the bed was the best I’ve slept in for a long time…
The pub itself is great and they pour a mean Guinness. The biggest bonus was the food - it was so good and I’ve eaten in a lot of five star places. The steaks were sublime, and the garlic prawns were delicious.
All in all a great experience if you find yourself in this neck of the woods. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Dooleys.
Great spot along the highway. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very accommodating with our dog as well. The overnight stay was perfect for an overnight stop with a lovely meal from the restaurant.
Friendly staff and locals great meals and service provide breakfast lunch and dinner for day/night shift crews who contract to surrounding mines.
Stayed for 1 night. Rooms were big and comfortable. We ate at the tavern, and it was yummy and well priced. Staff were wonderful. We are glad we stayed there instead of in Emerald. Would stay there again.
The bed was comfortable, I loved the fluffy white towels, the dinner was delicious.
The region
Volcanic peaks, sandstone gorges, sapphire fields and big outback sunsets. Both hotels are an easy drive from Emerald and the best of Central Queensland.
